2 Corinthians 6:3-4, 10

"We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way:...poor, yet making many rich..."

Paul and his co-workers list a lot of ways that they were servants of God and enabled many to be a part of a credible ministry. And although they were all impressive, this one: "poor, yet making many rich" was the one that really stood out the most to me. I've heard much about servant leadership lately and perhaps this is why it's striking; it carries the idea of being self-less (rather than selfish), and allowing/enabling those you lead/serve to succeed. Paul and his companions could've easily said, "we commend ourselves in every way, poor, yet making all of us ." But, they chose to make many rich instead of themselves. To me that's impressive! Leaders who have their follower's best interest in mind and enable others to succeed are true (servant & successful) leaders. (Conversely, leaders who are always looking out for themselves and their own interests are not fun to work under, nor are they really leading anyone but themselves!) I can only hope and pray that I would become better at this kind of leadership that serves others and enables them to succeed...
