1 Cor 12:24b-26

But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

These verses are encouraging and challenging to me especially as I think about upcoming church meetings. I know I have a tendency to question why things at our church are the way they are, and i wish things would change but i also know that i don't always look at the situation from all sides (from all congregations and age groups). It's encouraging to me that it starts off with "But God has combined the members of the body..." b/c it reminds me that we are all knitted together as one church family by God and so we should work together as a "whole" to work things out. I pray that we all will keep this in mind as we enter into these upcoming meetings.

verses that stuck out to me - totally related to your posting - were 1 cor 11:17-18 "in the following directives i have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good. in the first place, i hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and to some extent i believe it." i pray that in our upcoming meetings we do not fall into this....
