On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.
I've caught myself lately when I do different things to examine my motives. I'm encouraged by this verse to see the apostles' heart to seek God, please God, in all that they do. This I also want to do, but I realize that I fall short many times. It's easy to go on with our daily tasks unthinkingly, unintentionally. But God calls us to be intentional people, living lives that's holy and pleasing to Him. I'm challenged and learning to live life intentionally in every situation. I'm currently searching for work, and sometimes, I really have to sit down and think "will this job bring glory to God." It sounds all so high and lofty, but how else should we live? If I get a job, I want it to be please to God. I pray God will make it clear to me.
