It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
When I first read these verses, I suddenly realized that sexual immorality is not something that people struggle with in only the present (the time that we live in now), but this has been a long struggle for mankind since creation. I was reminded of how important it is to be sexually pure, in our thinking and action; God calls us to live pure lives, not just with our action in public, but also in our private. These verses challenges me to examines my thoughts, and the way I interact with the opposite sex. I need to be reminded that I need to be sexually pure, and that's not just with my action, but also in how (or what) I think ask well.
