They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."
Paul and Silas were flogged and put in jail, and while in jail, they worshiped God. FLOGGED, and it's the 2nd time it'd happened to Paul according to the book of Acts. But event amidst these harmful situations, the apostles were able to rest and praise God. Their confidence (in the LORD) was so great that even when they were released from jail miraculously, they did not escape. That became a testimony to the jail guard and he believed. Do I have faith? Do I act in faith? This verse caught my attention especially because it says "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD!" Do I have faith that God would do that? To not only save me, but those around me? God, teach me to believe in the things that you say. As simple as that. Believe.
