Acts 9:1, 15-16

v1. Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples.

v.15-16 But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."

We've been studying letters written by Paul (Saul) in our CG, and it struck me as I read about Saul's encounter with God and miraculous conversion how amazing and difficult it is to believe that these 2 people are the same. Saul was so against the gospel and good news the disciples were sharing about, and yet God was able to transform him into the man who wrote the letters we have been studying. We just finished 1 Timothy where we saw Paul as the teacher for a younger believer, Timothy, and he offered much wisdom and advice to that church in how to serve and manage the body of Christ. It's so hard to believe that these 2 men are the same, but I guess that just testifies to how powerful and amazing God is; that he can change the heart of the seemingly hardest of hearts. I'm reminded that I should not give up hope and continue to pray and believe that God can and will change the hearts of my friends and family that do not know how amazing God is.
