And Saul was there, giving approval to his death.
I was struck how mention of Saul was made right then and there, after such a horrible example of persecution with Stephen's stoning. Verse 3 then goes on to mention how Saul took up this persecution with a passion, destroying the church, going from house to house, and imprisoning men and women. We see Saul at the depths of his sin, at his very worst - only to know that his story doesn't end there, that God radically changes his life and works a miraculous redemption. With Easter week upon us, this story of sin and redemption really impressed upon my heart - having come on a similar journey and thankful to Jesus Christ all the more.
