And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer..."
I really love it when I read a familiar passage like this one and find some little "jewel" in it that I don't remember reading before. It really emphasizes the point that God's word is living and active! That's what this verse was for me, a little jewel. I was amazed by Jesus' words here b/c He knew His time of suffering was near, yet he was excited to be able to share this last meal this His disciples. It really shows how amazing a friend He is, that He could put aside His own concerns about what He was about to go thru and instead have joy in having the opportunity to these last hours with his close friends. I'm glad to have a friend in Jesus and hope to be a friend like Jesus too.
