Luke 2:25-38

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. (v25) There was also a prophetess, Anna, ...She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. (v36,37)

When reading these first 2 chapters in Luke what struck me for the first time was that there were 2 ways God announced the coming of Jesus. The first way was thru angels and the second way was by the Holy Spirit. When the angels appeared to these people, they were first filled with fear and then were in awe (I would be too I think). But for Simeon and Anna, they knew from the time Jesus and his parents entered the temple that He was the one they were waiting for b/c the Spirit told them He was finally here. This makes me think again to that verse in Mark 13:37 and I'm reminded again that I need to be and want to be watching for Jesus' return. Also by being in constant communication and waiting upon God, He will let lead me by His Spirit to see where He is at work around me and how I can share it with others.
