"[Jesus] answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."...[The Canaanite woman said]"Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table." Then Jesus said to her, "You have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed that very hour."
Although Jesus was aware of his mission (i.e. who He was sent to) and purposefully worked within that context, He allowed for interruption of others who were outside of his (initial) mission. I was also really struck by the persistent faith of the Canaanite woman and how her response really demonstrated her faith and trust in Jesus! (It's especially striking as the Canaanite woman could've gone to her own "religious leaders," but chose to go to Jesus to heal her daughter!) Do I trust my own Lord to do the same? And do I allow for similar interruptions in my life?...
** Again, I really thought I was in Mark..and I just realized that tomorrow we move on to Luke! oh wells...
