Mark 14: 36

"Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

Throughout Mark a theme I've noticed is that there are a ton of examples showing a correlation between "believing" and having faith and being healed or having an answered prayer. Over and over again Jesus heals people b/c of the their faith. Jesus even says "whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (mark 11:24) But I struggle with praying for things like miracles and healing b/c i also believe and know that God's will/plans are higher than mine. I have trouble reconciling praying with belief that God will do it when I don't know what God's will is. But this prayer Jesus says to His Father helps me to see how we can pray for both and it not be contradictory. In Jesus' prayer He first of all acknowledges that God can do anything, and then He prays and asks that God will change the situation he is in and lastly Jesus prays that for God's will to be done in the end. Jesus prayed with faith and belief and yet also prayed for God's will to be done. I don't know why I keep thinking it has to be one or the other.
