On that day a great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.
It amazes me that although the early church was persecuted at such an early point in its history God used it to spread the gospel even more. By scattering the believers all throughout the land surrounding Jerusalem even more people were able to hear about Jesus and the good news. Even through bad times, God is able to use it to strengthen people's faith and to bring others into his kingdom.
