Mark 13: 28-29,37

"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it is near, right at the door...What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!"

Despite the rain and wind, I can tell that spring is right around the corner b/c the plum/cherry blossom trees are starting to bloom, the trees that were once bear now have signs of life and the tulips and daffodils are popping up everywhere. These verses stood out to me and gave me encouragement b/c it is very noticeable when spring is coming b/c I'm always looking for the changes in the trees. So with Jesus' explanation of what to watch for I can also be on the watch for signs of His coming again, but the key and reminder to me is that I need to "watch" for it...I need to be more aware of the world around me and not just focused on my little world.
